Tricky to cultivate, most Honeybush is still gathered wild on steep, south-facing mountain slopes. Because heavy-handed harvesting can kill the shrubs, we source from a farmer who ensures a sustainable way of cutting the wild plants, thus preserving the delicate mountain ecology. This herb brews a clear red-gold infusion with an intriguingly spicy aroma, fruity nuances and a soothing honeyed sweetness that lingers satisfyingly on the tongue.
A 95 gram pack of Honeybush will produce 95 cups of tea, using 3 grams of tea per cup. The tea can be infused three times.
Infuse one rounded teaspoon per cup for at least 5 mins in water reaching the boil (95-98°C). Drink black, with milk or lemon, adding sugar/honey to taste. Delicious hot or iced (blends well with fruit juices) throughout the day.
